    He was chosen as part of a team sent to Egypt to determine the feasibility of building a factory there. However, the Seven Days War broke out and he was sent to Greece instead. When he returned to the US, he transferred to a plant in Michigan, and then moved to a job at the Ford Motor Factory north of Dundee, Michigan. He attended several community college classes and served in several capacities in the Monroe and Dundee city/county offices. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a union supervisor and member of UAW and lived at Eagle Springs (Dundee) until 2020, when he returned to West Virginia to be close to family.
