    Notes:

    He was an elementary school principal in Doddridge County. During World War II, he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy, where he was captain of LST 139 that participated in D-Day. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his military service. In 1948, he was president of the Doddridge County Education Association, as well as president of the West Union Lions Club. He then moved to Huntington, where he became professor emeritus at Marshall University, teaching in the Elementary Education Department. He retired to Sarasota, FL.

He is steadily dependable, and has proven himself invaluable to the Junior class by his willingness to shoulder responsibility."

He was also a program specialist for the West Virginia State Department of Education for ten years. He retired to Amarillo, TX, having previously resided in the Sunnyside community of West Union, WV.
