    Notes:

    Following his induction into the Army in Oct 1942, Sgt Frey attended radio school at Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Casper, Wyoming, and gunnery school at Kingman, Arizona, where he received his wings. He was deployed to the European Theater as a radio operator on a B-24 Liberator Bomber. On Nov 13 1943, while returning from a mission over Bremen, Germany, accompanying aircraft received a radio message from his plane advising that they were about to make a crash landing. But their position was not given, and their aircraft and personnel were never recovered. A memorial for T/Sgt John L. Frey is found among the Tablets of the Missing at the Camridge American Cemetery in England. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

    Military:
