Event Notes Note (1) News article, "Doddridge County Republican," Thursday, Aug 29 1918, in its entirety: JOSEPH C. WINDON WOUNDED IN FRANCE Joseph C. Windon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Windon of Blandville, was reported as "missing" July 25th in a telegram received here August 21st. But about the same time, possibly a little before, his parents received a letter from him dated Aug. 3rd, some ten days later than the "missing" report of the government, that he had been gassed and wounded in action and that he was in Base Hospital No. 9 with fair chances of recovery.
