Age 18 in his Oct 1882 (b. abt 1864) marriage record is inconsistent with all other records and was probably a result of reversing his age with his wife's. His middle name given as Washington in 1882 marriage record, but as Willard in death record. His birth record identifies him as Joseph McClain, born Jun 24 1859 at Douglass Camp, Doddridge County, son of J. A. McClain & Nancy.
