Event Notes
Note (1) Minute Books on file at the Doddridge County Courthouse contain the following
entry for the October 1847 term:

"Elizabeth Miller of this County having died intestate more than three months
ago and no person having applied for administration of her goods and chattel, it
is ordered that William F. Randolph, Sheriff of Doddridge County, take the
estate of the said Elizabeth Miller, deceased, into his possession and
administer the same according to law."
Note (2) In present-day Doddridge County, probably between Blandville and New
Milton.
