R. Smith of Salem, were united in marriage by Rev. John D. Runkle of the Baptist church. "The bride is one of our very best young ladies and is held in high esteem by all who know her; the groom is one of Harrison county's business men and is deservedly popular. "While this happy couple will make Salem their future home, we join a host of friends in extending congratulations and best wishes." (11) Doddridge County Death Records, West Union, WV. (13) West Union WV Cemeteries (Doddridge County), Wes Cochran, 2515 10th Ave, Parkersburg, WV 26101 (July 1990) Event Notes Note (1) at the county infirmary Note (2) Obituary states that interment was made "in the old West Union cemetery." This is almost certainly the lower portion of Blockhouse Hill Cemetery that was once the Seventh Day Baptist cemetery, rather than the former IOOF section of the upper Blockhouse Hill Cemetery. His wife's 1923 death record stated her burial location only as West Union. Based on her husband's obituary, it is presumed that she too was buried in the old SDB section.Name Index
