Note (2) Age 7 at 1870 Census would put birth in about 1863. But age 16y 1m at time of June 1877 marriage puts it at about May 1861. Note (3) Birth date given in death record as Apr 12 1866, but 1900 Census states Apr 1867, while age 5 in 1870 would put it in about 1865. In any case, his birth was at least three years after the death of Eli Hurst, his father of record, and well before his mother's remarriage.
