Note (1) News item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, July 11 1929, in its
entirety:
AGED CITIZEN PASSES
     Funeral direct C. S. Pease was called to Ashley on Tuesday afternoon to
direct the funeral of Alexander George, an aged and respected citizen who passed
away at his home in McClellan District early Monday morning in his 83rd [sic]
year.
Note (2) Age in 1870 Census would put birth in about 1836, but age 22 at time of Sep
1863 marriage puts it in about 1841.
Note (3) Birth date given as Apr 1873 in 1900 Census, but obituary states Apr 24 1874.
Headstone shows it as 1873.  Birthplace given as Tyler County in 1892 marriage
record, but as Doddridge County in 1911 marriage record and obituary.  He was in
Tyler County for the 1900 Census.
