Event Notes
Note (1) Age 2 in 1850 Census would put birth in about 1848, age 13 in 1860 Census
would put it in about 1847, and age 21 yr 3 mo in marriage record would put it
in about Aug 1848.  But 1900 Census shows it as Aug 1844, age 55, while age 72y
10m 26d in death record would put birth date at Aug 10 1843, the same as stated
in his obituary.  Birth date on headstone is also 1843.  It would appear that
his marriage record, which is consistent with the earlier census records, is the
most reliable indicator of his true birth date.
Note (2) Age was given as 26 in 1880 Census and 45 in 1900 Census, with birth date Oct
1854.  Death record and obituary state birth date as Oct 13 1851, but age 17 yr
1 mo in marriage record would put birth in about Oct 1852.
Note (3) Although her birth and death records give her name as "Rose," she apparently
adopted the form "Rosa" early on.  The Doddridge County Census of 1880 shows
Rosa A. Hart, granddaughter, living with the family of Isaac & Jane Husk.  The
obituary of Harry G. Plaugher identified him as the son of William A. and Rosa
Ann Hart Plaugher.
