McGinnis was born Feb 10, 1840, in Pleasants County, Virginia, and died at the old Hammett home near Camp, Sept 23, 1914, in her 75th year. "Deceased was the widow of Rev. David A. McGinnis of Harrisville, a well-known and highly respected pioneer minister who preceeded her some 18 years ago. "The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ward of the U. B. church Friday morning, Sept 25th, at Wilbur, and the interment services in charge of Carl S. Pease, funeral director, were at the beautiful Wilbur cemetery. "Many friends in Doddridge, Tyler and Ritchie who remember her as a devoted Christian woman will learn of their loss with sorrow." (Doddridge County Republican, Thursday, Oct 1, 1914)
