Event Notes Note (1) Birth date may be Sep 23 Note (2) Headstone gives death in year 1933. Note (3) Obituary of wife erroneously states marriage date as Nov 26 1875. Note (4) Wife's obituary gives marriage date as Nov 30 1883, an apparent error. Online marriage records (identifying him as John O. Gaston) indicate marriage on Nov 30 1882 in Doddridge County. Wes Cochran's "Doddridge County Marriages" (identifying him as John I. Gaston) also show the Nov 30 1882 date.
