Although the typed entry does state the child's name as Inoe, it is probably a misreading of the original, since her name consistently appears in all other records as Anna or Annie, often with middle initial A. Some researchers have concluded that her birth name was intended to be Iona, a name not found elsewhere, with middle name Annie. There is also some confusion regarding her date of birth. The Jul 1881 date is confirmed in the 1900 Census, but later records make her appear younger than her true age.
