Event Notes
Note (1) Birth date given as Aug 1837 in 1900 Census, but death record and headstone
state Aug 12 1842.
Note (2) Age 40 in marriage record of Apr 1911 would put birth in about 1871.  But age
21 at marriage in Jan 1890 would put it at about 1868, and age 52 on death
record of July 1919 puts it at about 1867.  Birth date on headstone is 1868.
Note (3) Age 26 at 1904 marriage would put birth ca 1878, while age 45 at 1922
marriage would put it ca 1877.  Birth date of Nov 1876 given in 1900 Census, and
death record states Nov 24 1876.  Although both marriage records give his place
of birth as Doddridge Co, no record of his birth is on file in Doddridge.
Note (4) Death record states birthdate as Aug 8 1876, conflicting with brother
William's Nov 1876 birthdate.  The 1900 Census shows his age as 21 and his
birthdate as Aug 1878, so the death record is presumed to be in error. 
Informant for death record was Nell Greathouse, relationship not given. 
Headstone shows birth date only as 1877.
Note (5) Birth date given in death record as Jun 6 1876, and a date of Jun 6 1877 has
also been reported.  But he was not with his family in the 1880 Census,
enumerated on Jun 28 1880.  His age in subsequent censuses put his age in or
about 1880.  While the 1900 Census states his birth date as June 1880, his birth
record shows that he was born on August 5 1880.
Note (6) Marriage record gives birth date as July 1882, but 1900 Census shows it as
Dec 1882 and obituary states Dec 18 1882.
Note (7) His 1957 marriage record states birth date as Apr 20 1885, while age 24 given
in his Jan 1906 marriage record would put birth in about 1882 or 1883.  But 1900
Census shows birth date as Apr 1884, and SSDI states Apr 20 1884.
